Whitney Elizabeth Houston is a singer who was born in Newark New Jersey on the 9th August, 1963. Her parents are gospel superstars Cissy Houston(n e Emily Lee Drinkard), and John Russell Houston Jr. Whitney's cousin Dionne warwick is also a singer. The mother of Whitney Houston and her daughter started singing professionally at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark in the year Whitney was just 15 years old.
